Ecuador’s shrimp industry continues strengthening its production infrastructure through the expansion of the shrimp meal processing plant facilities located in Taura, Guayas province.
The expansion aims to increase operational capacity and optimize industrial processes focused on the production of high-value marine nutritional ingredients for the aquaculture and food industries.
The plant has established itself as one of the national benchmarks in the transformation of marine by-products through specialized technology and advanced quality control processes.
According to institutional information, the newly incorporated areas will strengthen shrimp meal processing and expand the production of marine protein hydrolysates, products used in animal and aquaculture nutrition due to their high protein content and biological functionality.
The company highlighted that this expansion responds to the sustained growth of Ecuador’s shrimp sector and the international demand for higher value-added nutritional solutions.
The facilities feature automated systems for temperature control, pH monitoring, and hydrolysis processes, as well as state-of-the-art industrial evaporation and drying equipment. According to the company, these improvements will help maintain consistent quality standards and reinforce production efficiency.
The Taura plant is strategically located approximately 45 kilometers from Guayaquil, a key area for the logistics and export chain of Ecuador’s aquaculture industry.
With this expansion, the industrial complex seeks to strengthen its position within Ecuador’s marine protein sector by focusing on technological innovation, sustainability, and the integral utilization of resources derived from shrimp farming activities.
