An Integrated Industrial Ecosystem for Protein Innovation and High-Value Nutrition

Taura Plant

The Taura Plant, located at Km 19.5 on the Durán–Tambo highway, is one of Fortidex’s main industrial centers.

Here, shrimp byproducts are processed to produce:

  • Shrimp meal (steam dried)
  • Shrimp hydrolysates, including dry hydrolysate (BioFort-SP) and other marine hydrolysate formats.

The plant operates with modern equipment and quality control systems designed to ensure consistent technical specifications and product reliability.

Our Taura facility is designed with  an integrated industrial system that includes grinding, cooking, pressing, evaporation, enzymatic hydrolysis reactors, and spray drying technology.

Operations are conducted under controlled parameters of temperature, pressure, and processing time, ensuring stability and consistency throughout production.
Continuous monitoring and process controls allow precise management of each stage, from raw material input to final product output.

Data Plant/Posorja Plant

Located in Posorja (Vía al Morro), the Data Plant is Fortidex’s main facility for producing high-quality marine ingredients from fish.

The plant manufactures:

  • Fishmeal in different protein grades
  • Fish oil rich in essential fatty acids
  • Fish hydrolysates (HydrolyFort-FL and HydrolyFort Plus) derived from fish by-products

Throughout the production process, rigorous quality control systems ensure raw material freshness, process consistency, and compliance with international quality standards.

Advanced analytical technologies, including Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR), enable rapid monitoring of key quality parameters such as protein, fat, moisture, ash, and freshness indicators. Final product validation is performed using internationally recognized analytical methods, guaranteeing consistent quality, reliability, and technical performance.

Laboratory

At Fortidex, our laboratories are an essential part of our quality assurance system, supporting every stage of production from raw material reception to final product validation.

Through continuous monitoring and advanced analytical testing, we ensure the consistency, safety, and nutritional performance of every ingredient we produce.

Our laboratories perform comprehensive physicochemical analyses, including protein, moisture, fat, ash, total volatile nitrogen (TVN), histamine, soluble protein, and degree of hydrolysis. Advanced technologies such as Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR), Dumas, Kjeldahl, and Soxhlet methodologies provide fast, accurate, and reliable results, while internationally recognized testing protocols ensure compliance with the highest quality standards.

This integrated laboratory approach enables complete process control, product traceability, and consistent performance across our entire portfolio of marine ingredients.

Fleet and Dock Operations

Fortidex operates its own dock in the parish of Posorja, where fishing vessels land their catch for industrial processing.

The facility includes:
• Fishing vessels and pumping systems for unloading

• Supporting infrastructure such as an ice production facility for raw material preservation

This infrastructure allows Fortidex to maintain operational control over the supply chain, from the ocean to the processing plant.

Dock services include:

• Fishing operations for Fortidex

• Fish unloading services

• Fuel supply

• Ice production and sales
