Taura Plant Advances Toward MarinTrust V3 Re-Certification and Expands Scope into Hydrolysates
The industrial plant of FORTIDEX is advancing in its re-certification process under the MarinTrust Version 3 international standard, one of the world’s most recognized certifications for the responsible and traceable production of marine ingredients intended for animal and aquaculture nutrition.
As part of this new phase, the company is also working to expand the certification scope to include its marine protein hydrolysate line, further strengthening its commitment to international standards of sustainability, quality, and industrial transparency.
The MarinTrust certification evaluates aspects related to raw material traceability, supplier management, marine resource sustainability, and compliance with responsible industrial processes. Including hydrolysates within the certification scope would represent an important step for the company’s international positioning and its specialized products.
Representatives from the Taura plant stated that this re-certification is part of a strategy aimed at strengthening the confidence of international clients and responding to the demands of markets that prioritize ingredients backed by globally recognized certifications.
The process also reflects the evolution of Ecuador’s marine ingredients industry toward production models with a stronger focus on sustainability, innovation, and added value. Through this initiative, Fortidex seeks to continue consolidating its presence in international markets and expanding its business opportunities within the global aquaculture sector.
